I also own a drum set as I started playing 10 years ago but still love RockBand and think the $200 price tag is not bad. They don't take up much room and they don't look that bad. I'm not sure about calling them 'gay shit'. I actually think they look great for video game drums. I'm not sure why you say your not attacking anybody when your attacking what people like. If they release another game with new instruments in 2 years for $200 I will be purchasing it as well. There was no need to make the RockBand drums look real. They are not real drums. In fact they look like a electric drum set which is what they are. However, it really doesn't matter what it looks like, the game is fun and the songs are awesome. I would have bought the 360 if it was bright yellow or looked retarded, because it doesn't matter what it looks like, just what is inside it.

I was talking about the guitar being a strat and actually doing wood colors for the neck. I had private drum lessons from 7-12 and played about everyday up until around 17. But thats irrelevant. I just hate the idea of being 20 years old and spending that much money on plastic instruments. If you actually have 4 people in your house, why not actually MAKE MUSIC?
As I said, enjoy it. I'm sure its fun. Thats great, enjoy it. I just know people that think playing the drums / guitar in rockband is the same as actually learning the instrument. And it's insulting to be honest.

Playing guitar on RockBand is nothing like real guitar however playing the drums on RockBand is a great start when learning the drums. What most people have a problem with on real drums and on RockBand is rhythm. RockBand lets you pick that up and have fun. It is no different then starting out learning drums on a practice pad. But RockBand has nothing to do with making music. It is about playing a video game and having fun. I understand lots of people don't like RockBand and that is fine but being 22 years old me and my wife thought spending $200 on plastic instruments/360 game was worth it.

If you are going to spend 200 bucks on fake plastic drums that are about the same size as real drums, but some REAL FUCKING DRUMS. Jesus.
Plus, no one can ever sing that as good as GlaDos. Hope it comes to GH.
Yea man, god forbid us less musically talented and our friends have some fun! :P

Really? That is why the world is full of drummers. I beg to differ as a drummer and if you think it takes no skill then maybe you just don't have skill on drums.

I'm gonna have to agree with twofivethreetwo on this one. Playing drums is challenging I had my friend give me a couple lessons. It took awhile for me to even get a steady beat.
