You can choose from Recommended (default) Frantic and Basic in Versus, if memory serves. Frantic is... Frantic. ;]

Brawl is the same - item switch only functions in Brawls, not Classic/SSE/All Star/Events etc.

I played it a bit more last night a good 35 mins or so and I enjoyed it a little more. I have done the 50cc, 100cc and will start the 150cc.

I always just use Mario.....any better folks?

I think what was putting me off was the bikes - there is no need for them IMO

I guess its just a change at the end of the day. I either play toad with the baby kart thing the one that looks like a pram or bones guy (i'm still half asleep clearly) with the bullet looking bike.

Looks as though you've completed more of the game than i have and i've had it a day before release.

In the light class, I favour Toadette + Bullet Bike, in the Medium class I prefer Bowser Jr. + Mach Bike and in the Heavy class I use Dry Bowser + Bowser Bike.

The bikes rule. I prefer the way they drift. The Karts feel too much like they did in Double Dash. Which was a disgrace to the series, in my opinion.
