I'm not the type that reads manuals etc. So, whats the dealio?
Like the whole thing with Friend Codes etc.. Do I just need to hook a Ethernet cable up to it and bam, I'm on? Or what.
I'm sure theres some settings on the console somewhere, it has built in wifi.

I've never played the wii online, but I always thought Wii24Connect was just a feature that updates your Wii firmware automatically and gets the latest news headlines, etc.
Friend codes: You have to go to your message inbox, then your adress book, and there you can see your friend code and also add friends. Very annoying.
WiiConnect24 is basically your Wii's internet (kinda like the Xbox 360 Dashboard, when you sign into Live you get dynamic ads, market place, etc). Same for the Wii. When your connected to WiiConnect24 you get your news channel, weather channel, everybody votes, and the Wii Shop, etc.
The Wii has built-in wifi if you have a wireless router then I would set it up like that. When the Wii needs an update or you have a new message (either from Nintendo or from a Friend in your address book) the Wii drive will glow blue to let you know.
You friend code is found in your address book. That is also where you can add other friend codes as well.
I don't have a wireless router, but I was thinking of getting one.
Yeah, you'll need a USB to Ethernet adapter or a wireless access point... You're better off with the former if you ask me, since it's cheaper and WiFi sucks.

How does WiFi suck? Do you mean the Wii's WiFi sucks, or WiFi sucks in general?
