Just got a four star rank on the Ski Jump. =D

I love that, it's definitely the best part of Wii Fit so far.

I always get around 100m on the ski jump. What's the trick?
It's probably maintaining your balance after the jump or something, as I always fuck that up

Yes it took me a while to work it out too - what you have to do I think is (obviously) keep your COG in the blue circle while you're descending the ramp, leave your jump as late as possible and then after you have jumped, keep your COG where the blue circle was, even though you can no longer see it on the screen.

I think that's the trick. Although it could be to lean forward as far as you can, or to just make sure your COG stays completely stable.

I really don't know, but I usually manage around 160-170m per jump using the first technique.

Ok

A friend came over today, and she jumped 168m on her first try. Guess I just need to practice/mess around a bit more.

When my friends came over, I did notice this was a shortcoming of the game though. While the game does tell you that practicing with friends is much more fun, it also makes it very annoying to switch between Mii's constantly.
So we all just used my Mii, but then the game shows a stupid "your weight seems to have changed" popup after every game.

Also, why are the unlocked minigames/workouts not accessible for everyone?

Oh well...

Besides the ski jump I'm really liking the slalom and the bubble/river game.

Yeah mine's been sent, I'll have it tomorrow. But seeing as I have thursday off I doubt I'll be playing Wii much, what with GTA IV and all.

You've touched on the two things that most irritate me about Wii Fit, also. The fact that you have to unlock the exercises for each Mii you have registered is utterly stupid.

Haha rathat. Throw on an iPod and do super hoola hoop on the highest setting. You'll be sweating off the pounds. And it works your side muscles as well.

So I've had it about a week now...I don't play it everyday, but I try to play at least a little...And it beats going to the gym. Except that I feel like I'm not making much progress. There's a lot of down time and not as much actual working out as I'd like. And for $90...I dunno. It's definitely no substitute for the gym or going for a run.

I read a review at http://www.gamesabyss.com/index.php/...wii-fit-review which gives pretty good explanations of the various modes and how the system basically works. I agree that the best part is the BMI counter, since it's a (relatively) accurate measure of how fit you are. Except that now I have video games telling me I'm out of shape, which seems deliciously ironic...
