PS1 games are expensive...

Can you play PS1 games on your PS3? I've been trying to find out for ages. I know before it was released they said backwards compatibility would only be for PS2 and that PS1 would be discontinued.

60GB = ps1 + ps2(these are not being released now, so the price is up a lot).

You can play PS1 games on all of them, because they were fully emulated from the beginning, whereas the older PS3 models still had the Emotion chip, which powered the PS2.

yea, I didn't mention the 20gb(ps1 + ps2) cause that stopped ages ago, would be looking at like £400 or something for that lol. 80GB isn't out in the EU either, but it's still not worth it.

Buy a cheap slimline ps2 and buy a 40gb ps3(then upgrade HD). I'd never buy the 80gb ps3 or 60gb, it will run out quick.

I got the 80gb bundle which actually saved me $60. (basically got MGS4 free) Then I went out and bought a 250gb HDD for about $90 (after rebate).

Well, I've got a PS2, so I'm looking at a 40GB and sticking a 500GB HD or so in it.

Dude, Jaejae, I reeeally don't think you need that much. It's not at all worth the amount they go for (you can almost buy another ps3 with that money) and I can imagine them getting pretty hot. If you're really set on that much space, just get an external hdd and save a couple hundred bucks.


@Pico - The bundle was $500. I think it was basically like the 60gb but with an 80gb HDD instead. Like, it has stuff that was removed from newer skus (like extra usb I think and BC). It came with MGS4, a dual shock 3 (instead of a sixaxis) and a voucher for a free PAIN download.
