So who else has got/is getting it?

So far it's awesome as it should be, I'm on my way to rescue a certain someone (won't spoil it). For anyone who didn't know, you can buy weapons in this game but it requires you doing small tasks, there's quite a lot of guns in the game too.

I've just started Act 2 as well.

Anyone know if you get goodies for completing it like the last games? Ie stealth, bandana etc?

I got a gun for completing the game... The "Race Gun". I didn't do particularly well though, it took me 15:24 and the highest ranking animal I got was Eagle: 9. I might go through it again on the hardest difficulty some time...

Why is the game so damn big? Is it because of all the cutscenes? I was expecting the game to have a really long and deep involving story, but I've heard that it is really short, much shorter than GTA IV's story.

lol, you never played any MGS games? They have some of the most intense storys ever and go into amazing ammounts of detail. However, I heard theres like 7 hours of cutscenes so that takes up a lot of the space, pretty amazing cut-scenes though.

It depends how you play the game, and how good you are at it. If you're going for no alerts then it will take you longer.

It's a great film though, as well as a great game. God knows it's a better piece of cinema than anything I've seen recently.

I've Played 1, that's it. I just thought the story would take a lot longer to complete than the time it has been taking most people. And I think it's stupid how people call it a movie. It's a fucking game with long cutscenes, maybe they are done really well but that doesn't make it a movie.

I know there is some shit to unlock but I'm not too sure what (besides the bandana). I can hearing people saying they're trying for the Big Boss something or other (title maybe) and that it's really hard.

My first run through will definitely be one just enjoying the story and gameplay and not worrying about unlocking anything. My second play through I might wait for the trophies to come out so I can do those at the same time.

Oh yeah, how bad are the installs before each act? (well, before the second act since that's what you're on)

I've completed #1 in about 40minutes, running and gunning but Metal Gear isn't about that really. The most fun comes from removing the AI from the map using stealth/tactics like playing porn mags down and then grabbing them/knocking them out/kill them via hand to hand. Also it seems to have such good cutscenes they can be compared to a movie, that's the point...

My first run is just me playing it, I'm trying to be all stealth but not waste to much time on it (ie finding everything etc). Second play will idk.. just be another play through lol. I'm hoping konami will have the tropheys ready for the next patch, I also wonder if they'll release them for all the games since the ps3's launch?

The first install is about 9 minutes, which is a bit annoying cause I just wanted to play it! After that you get them between acts and I think they're about 3 min.

That's awfully ignorant of you. We're not calling it a movie, we're comparing it with movies and remarking on its incredibly cinematic gameplay.

Pico's right, the first install is the big 'un, then the rest are real short. I still found it amusing though, since they make the "Change the disc" joke. Changing out a disc would be quicker than the installations... :P
