PS3 Has Arrived

It seems alright, I like the whole simple and slick feel of the dashboard type area. One thing I really like is how it's so much quieter, it's almost silent, another thing is that the disc tray doesn't 'come out' you actually slide the disc in which is kinda cool.

Updating the firmware atm to connect to the PSN so I haven't played any games yet.

Seems perfectly fine to me, I like the new psn store look. I saw the old one at nyles and it was horrible, this ones pretty nice. Just downloaded a free theme too called Graffiti.

Pico, I take it you got one with a Sixaxis? I've been trying to find a MGS4 Bundle with the new Dual Shock 3 but they seem to have sold out everywhere within a few days of it's release. I agree about the shape (360's controller is much more comfortable IMO) but I don't mind it too much since it's basically the PS2 controller I'm used to using for years. The DS3 feels much nicer though with the added weight.

I like it's GUI a lot, very simple and slick. What I hate right now is definetly the friend system, it's a simple thing to create one like XBL however they've cocked it up. I want to reply to some messages but you need to exit the game and then reply, also you have seperate tags for each game ( lame ).

I'm not sure if I have a sixaxis tbh, looks such like the ps2 controllers but I think I have a sixaxis. I don't mind it but I gotta get used to it again, I've not played the PS2 since I got an Xbox.

Now metal gear solid 4? No complaints, need to get used to the whole eastern european settings though. I obtained two weapons within minutes (after the cinematics), an AK and I think an MP7 or something but I didn't check. Enemy weapons are locked from when you pick them up too, so I guess I'll need to crack them somehow.

I just met otacon as well, he's much older and looks like leonardo di caprio(SP?), pretty epic so far but I'm gonna jump online and play with nyle for a bit. It's definetly got nothing on xbox live though.. I mean that without any bias fanboy oppinion.

Well you're in luck because they're fixing the the friend adding and all that crap in the next patch. That's what I posted in that other thread with the trophies. In game XMB.

And don't worry about the setting in MGS4. I won't spoil anything but you definitely won't be there the whole game.

That's awesome that they're fixing the whole friend system, it's pretty bad. Oh? Awesome, I don't mind anyway but I remember the whole oil derik/offices and it brought back memroies when I first met otacon and the guy using stealth.

I got some early birthday money so I'm gonna get one as soon as I can find an MGS bundle. Supposedly retailers are supposed to get a resupply this week but we'll see.

Looks sexy though. Is your model the 40gb one? You think that's enough? I might buy an upgrade for the hdd for newegg if it seems like you need more.
