Guild Wars

With not many games to play right now and no money available to spend on new stuff, I decided to boot up Guild Wars again after talking to a clan mate. I have to say I find it surprisingly fun.

When GW first game out, I found the PvE aspect boring as all shit, and something...wrong with it that kept me away. Also, PvP characters used to be a joke if you wanted to make a PvP Only character. You had about...5 crappy builds to pick from and crappy equipment to go with it. I did buy Factions and Nightfall as they came out, but never got into it.

The PvP Only characters are totally changed right now from the last time I tried it, which it a good thing. Now you make a character of a single class, get a few starter abilities, but you can buy ANY skill for ANY class from that one character and have them unlocked for ANY character after that. I like that, a lot. it saves from endlessly grinding on other character for X and Y skill.

PvP feels a bit slow, but thats ok. I don't mind it too much.

I myself liked the faction wars, & I think that the large battle fields are cool 'n stuff, but i find the PvE to be very boring by yourself. that's why you need to get in a guild right away. other then that, I find it very fun.

I was about to start with Guild Wars but then my team decided to actually get WoW so we went back to that..



PvP always looked superior.

Your post has inspired me to boot it back up again, i've got pro and nightfall. Hopefully i'll enjoy it more than i did last time.

The PvE is probably on the same level as the average Korean MMO...just a grind. It sucks.

I believe the PvP is vastly superior to WoW considering that is why people play GW. It's why there save been several $100,000 tounry for GW, run by the GW staff. It's why the game has a very strict ability hotbar. I can go on. WoW just...has PvP. Sure, it has Arenas, but it's a broken system.

EDIT: And I finished my Assassin/Dervish build today. Holy shit the single target burst damage :o
