2 cards = decentish scaling, 3 = awful.

He got the dual-GPU 3870X2. I think he was sold as soon as he read the fact that is has a 1GB frame-buffer. You could try explaining that that has no bearing on rendering performance, but it's Nyle so it would fall on deaf ears, bless him.

I heard 3 way SLI was great for high resolutions, so I would get a 1920x1200 reso monitor or higher.

I can play comfortably at 1920x1200 with two cards... There's just no justification for blowing so much cash on three cards.
