This is basically the PC I would get, with the same plan. Get the E8400, which is a great dual core. Then maybe 5 or 6 months later, ugprade to a nice new quad. This PC is nice and future proof, and quite powerful.

Since most games don't use quad optimization, it's not that needed.

Yeah but you know Nyle, he's impressed by big numbers and stuff. He won't buy a dual-core, no matter what logic you throw at him.

He actually agreed and said it was a good idea. So that's why I got the E8400, if he said he wanted a quad right now I would have made with a 6600.

Jesus. It took some doing just to get him to understand why 2 or 4GB is ample for a gaming machine - after I mentioned I had 8 he went nuts about getting 8.

I think they do, that's why I asked in the Original post if he needed to get any extra cables.

But he lives in england so if he ends up needing another cable, he can just buy it and would be there the next day.

Everything looks fine tbh. And imo he shouldn't even get a quad core until most games decide to utilize them. Its just not worth the extra money imo.
