Bay 12 Games: Dwarf Fortress

If you are from Facepunch, you already know about Dwarf Fortress. There is a HUGE THREAD (link) on it already. I would say check that link you because the first post has all the info you need to check it out before playing.

It rocks. Try it. Pass off the ASCII, the gameplay is great. There are character (link) and graphic (link) sets as well, if the ASCII bugs you too much. They take about two seconds to install (link). If you want a really good looking game, get this pack (link). It's already packaged with DF so all you have to do is unzip and run.

I love this game. It's a litle confusing still after a weeks of playing, and I loose a a lot, but keep going back to try new strategies and stuff. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for fun and/or a challenge.

It also is a CPU eater so don't try to multi-task.

Probably one of the greatest games i have played and damn have i been playing it for a long time.

The ASCII graphics are hard to understand at first, but after the first step you start realising what they all mean without having to press 'k' to view them.
Dwarf mode really shows this game for what it is in my opinion.
