I'd say it's lacking in good games these days, it's only RTS I really enjoy on it.

i don't know, i think that it is going to start slowing down more. i mean we see the consoles like ps3, which although it has already been discussed, not even has an internet browser. the one thing that really attracted me to pc gaming back in the day was the ability to play online. for a while the pc was the only good way to play a good online game. now that can happen with any modern console. i think unless some innovation comes it's way; it'll be soon a thing of the past.

There is too much piracy in the PC market to make it viable. ID and Crytek have recently announced more support for consoles as they where hit hard by the pirates. I am sure by the next hardware iterations of the consoles that PC gaming will only be for the true hardcore.

Commercially it is becoming a less attractive platform to develop for, but it has its place. PC is, and will always be, alive and kicking because everyone can program for it. Indie games, mods and the like, you'll find anything you need on PC.

As for Crytek aiming its arrows at consoles now: They are the ones to blame, really. With PC requirements that high, no one is going to buy it.

i love rts games and their horrid on the controller ie 360 hopfully ps3 versions will have mouse and keyboard support

for instance world in conflict is one of the best games ive played in years online and offline its coming to 360 n ps3 and the controls will be jack

PC games will be populated by only Darwinia and RTS games in the future (although C&C works well on xbox360)
Many people have slowwed down upgrading the PC because they are comfortable with XP, improving hardware is costly and things like splitscreen on PC suck, aswell as other things such as devs get pirated like biatches on PC (yo, ho pirates!) and people cannot see the point in buying a new graphics card each month for new games.

Consoles may not be as good as the PC because the PC is a moving target but its reliable and its as good at this point as you ever want it to be. Making games look any more realistic is pointless because I already cant really tell the difference.
