Don't even mention laptops. Just no.

Its true, PC Gaming can be quite an annoyance when it comes to serials and security. I hate the whole 'serial' shit. However, it is the only way that companies can protect their software.
THis is one of the main reasons PC Gaming may die (I haven't given up hope yet

): Computer software is so easy to pirate and many of the software providers just can't be bothered to make new titles for the PC if they are on torrents before they are even officially released.
Another point that I quite like is that PC Gaming is just going through a quiet spot right now. Especially with things like the Wii and the whole 'novelty' of being able to actually carry out some of the things in the game yourself, PC developers have got alot on their plates.
Final thing i'll say is that M$ are probably stopping PC gaming taking off too. Due to Vista's failure (hell I don't and never would tap
that), Next gen games which need Direct X 10 (an exclusive vista feature), just don't sell in the shops.
IMO, PC Gaming has a few issues to sort out, however, I think that the humble desktop will prevail as one of the most important gaming platforms around for a few years yet.
