I get a lot of pop punk: all time low, taking back sunday, the academy is, cobra starship...all this shit was just made for summer.

For cruising some techno like Justice or MSTRKFRFT is solid, and when just chilling out its stuff like Sublime, Eels, or Cake.

Something light and poppy, Coheed and Cambria.

It's coming into winter here, I usually listen to harder, heavier stuff in winter, Norma Jean, maybe even As I lay Dying if I'm feeling really hardcore.

How the hell is Coheed and Cambria light and poppy?


For me, it's whatever comes out in the summer (The Futureheads, The Cure, My Morning Jacket) plus very ethereal music like Boards Of Canada or even Godspeed You Black Emperror.

Also, anything that's on my current last fm top 50 will probably get some playtime on those endless summer days on french beaches.

Lyrically, Coheed and Cambria is really heavy.
But if you ignore the lyrics, and just listen to how it sounds, it is pretty light, Claudio's voice, I think is the main factor in it sounding light.
