DS or PSP?

I'm looking into buying a new hand held gaming unit but I dont know which would be worth it for right now and in the long run. I think I know which one I prefer but I'm easily swayed.

PSP is better in the long run, much simpler to watch movies on if you get bored of the games.

yyeaahh. i was leaning towards a DS but after knowing that I can now play original playstation games on a PSP. I think I would go with that. I know I'm prolly late on figuring that out.
