Gta 5 only on PS3?

Oh god I hope its true about GTA5 being only on PS3! I dont have anything against the 360 as such but out of all the games on the market GTA4 is probably the one thats suffered the most from the 360's storage limitations.

By its nature GTA is a game that needs all the memory it can get. It makes me feel a bit sick knowing how much wasted space there is on my GTA4 disc. Its kinda makes me feel like us PS3 users have been screwed over, cause it could have been so much more. When you play you can tell loads has been cut out. Even alot of the original screenshots have stuff the game doesn't, like Ferries, other weapons and more interiors for example.

Dont get me wrong here, I know that the 360 has helped make GTA alot of money, but purely as a game, GTA has suffered becasue of it.

Wasn't there supposed to be ferries you could use? I remember them showing the docks + boats in the early trailers. Quite a few features were dropped but that happens to most games.

You're right, but when I play GTA4 it just feels like there is so much missing. Just a small example is the fact that many of the doors that lead to interiors have a certain look to them compared to ones that dont. Yet whilst ive been exploring I have come accross countless numbers of doors that look like they are meant to lead into interiors but don't.

And yes there were supposed to be useable ferries. The fact they are in the first trailer means they got rid of them at a late stage, meaning it was most likely a storage issue. Plus Sam Houser himself did say they had serious storage issues with the 360 made worse by the fact that Microsoft would'nt allow them to make use of a hard drive because not all 360 onwers have them.

I dont mean to go on about it but as PS3 user im a little pissed off. It just seems like Microsoft came along, got a deal going and before you know it Rockstar have got these major limitations to work to because they cant make use of the xbox hard drive and they cant keep stuff they could fit onto blueray for the PS3 cause the game has to be the same for both.

GTA4 is amazing still but it should and could have been so much better

GTA5 maybe, FF no unless we're talking cinematics, MGS4 is an amazing game but gameplay wise it's exetremely short(story mode).. the only thing which makes it seem longer is the cinematics.

You would've said the same thing back when GTA3 come out on the PS2, that was an amazing next step and back then I doubt anyone thought you could top it... 5ish years down the line you have SA, more weapons, vehicles, missions, side missions, activitys, more peds, more ped voices, a map about 5 times the size of the first, NO LOAD TIMES ETC ETC.

If Crysis was designed with an old TNT2 in mind, it goes without saying that it would look nowhere as nice as it does.

Now, the comparison isn't anywhere near as drastic, but since FFXIII is being designed with the 360 in mind, it will look worse than if it was designed solely for the PS3.

Also, I don't get how GTA3 has anything to do with this, unless I'm wrong, it was ported to Xbox far later.

How far companies can get with games doesn't exactly depend on the hardware, they learn all sorts of data compression techniques along the way, that's my point.

Your question is hypothetical either way, you can draw to that conclusion once a ps3 game has been ported over and looks much worse.

This is true, a game made for the same hardware a year later will tend to look better, but hardware is the primary factor. Late PS1 games looked nice, but early PS2 games looked noticeably better.

I'm not saying that it will look worse when ported (although it can happen), I'm saying that the game will look worse on both consoles because it has to perform on both consoles, utilising the hardware of the weaker console, but not utilising the full potential of the more powerful console.
