So yeah this war isn't anything at all what the Media is saying. My GF knows about this stuff. Its a long story but I will just touch lightly on it tonight and get her to explain it to me better tomorrow.

Before USSR formed there was some of the regions of Georgia were not Georgia so after USSR fell apart the 2 regions remained independent.
Georgia still claims them as there own, also they send there troops in every so often to do what ever it is they do.

The 2 regions, South Ossetia and some other one want to become part of Russia. Georgia won't give up on them and Russia gives them aid.

This week Georgia's troops destroyed the capital and a lot of other stuff they were on their way back when Russia got to them. And well the troops that invaded South Ossetia, didn't make it back. I hope this makes sense.

So this is what I got outta it is that Russia isn't doing something scamless like the US is doing in Iraq (so this is good).

Not surprised that the media is twisting this against Russia, but I will have to confer with my Russian connection tonight and discover more!

It would be interesting if the USA got involved. If this goes on for sometime the UK fuel prices will sky-rocket even more I imagen... we get 30% of our oil from a pipeline which runs under Georgia and atm is shut down (not relating to these attacks, but it could delay them from starting up again).

They probably will if no cease fire comes around, Georgia is the third country with the most troops in iraq.

Georgia already stated they are pulling out of Iraq.



And like it or not the US is the world police because no one else is fit for that role, I would say "except for maybe China", but that would start a hugely annoying debate I am deff not in the mood for right now.

I'm not getting into the whole argument on where the nukes are or whether the war was justified.

But currently there are no other superpowers who are willing to do shit when problems arise, and those who are willing to do shit are sometimes the problem.
