I actually have never really understood what the big deal about HDR pictures is. They look kinda shitty imo.

Explain to me what HDR pics are exactly so I don't feel like a fuckin sped..

HDR high dynamic range
is when you can make a picture look kick ass from using a photo taken with a few different exposures.

I don't know much about DSLR's, but is there a camera where i can set the stop increment to like .5 or 1 and take lots of exposures? I heard it was called auto bracketing or is that something else. I want a dslr that i can take a picture and upload a lot of the exposures to photoshop or photomatix. But like 10 exposures of 1 picture at like .25 stop increments.

I know what they look like.. trying to understand if they're digitally manipulated or if they're multiple photos fused together or if they're just completely digital?

yeah you just kind of merge them. But if you use one picture instead of multiple exposures it's like taking a pic and making it brighter on the computer to see stuff that the camera didn't take a picture of. that leaves out the detail.

Photography is one of those things I promised myself I'd try. I don't think I'll ever get to though, my life is just too busy which kinda sucks.

I do like that effect though, looks really awesome!

I know mine has Auto Bracketing, I just haven't tried taking any HDR pics yet.
