Client Mock-Up

I'm doing a mock-up for a pro-bono client (my wife's step-dad). They are a girls volleyball team (13-15year olds mostly). I actually do the site for his current girls volleyball team but he (is head coach) is leaving it and starting his own (which is what this site is for).

Let me know any thoughts, suggestions, comments, etc. This is a very rough draft and just started on it today. Still drafting how the content will be laid out (on pencil/paper). The idea behind the site is there name is Oklahoma Thunder. I believe he said the tag line would be something like 'Bring The Thunder' or 'Experience The Thunder' or something like that I'm not sure. So, the website is kinda like a calm before the storm type thing. You see the clouds and little sun (but it is fading away) and a few birds flying away. Basically the website is the calm before the storm where as if you want to see the storm go to a tournament or join the team.

The coach gave me several things he wants and the style he wants so I'm trying to keep with that.

I like it, Q though. How come you don't end the design until the browser ends? I seen it on a couple of your designs. Is it just easier for wp?

haha, that is just saved from Photoshop. I normally make the canvas big enough for the header, small content area, and footer. I don't use PS Slice tool when saving, I merge folders and save on their own. So, I don't need to make the canvas very big, just enough to get the images I need to save. Sometimes I don't do a wireframe or mockup and start with xhtml/css layout and then go into Photoshop to do the graphics I need; backgrounds, borders, headers, etc...

Aha, I do it the same way too, individualy save images I need. I hate the PS slice tool tbh.

I think its a little too wide, mabey you should make it thinner to fit smaller screens. other than that it looks teh sex.

It'll fit on anything above 900px which is fine, hardly anyone uses 800x600 and if they do.. then wow.

Don't care for how the Marcell font looks. But it fits the theme I suppose.

Yeah, I design with 1024×768 as my lowest resolution supported. The width of the container will actually be 925px. If your reso is 800x600 then most sites are too big even main stream sites.

@Laz; the font was actually suggested by the coach. he wanted the 'old spirit' sport shirts style (his words). I looked at several different ones and Marcell was the one I liked out of them.
